4th District Banquet
Scheduled for Monday, July 31st
Celebrate the close of the 4th District American Legion Season at
the Annual Banquet on Monday, July 31st, hosted by Tri-City
American Legion Post 513 (400 Old Highway #8 N.W. in New
Brighton, 651-631-1124). "Pregame warmups" start at 6
p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m. Contact your team manager or
George Bodlovick (4th District Director) for tickets.

Ron Adams honored at State
Tournament Banquet for Lifetime Contributions
At the 2006 Minnesota State
Tournament banquet, Ron Adams was honored as Coach of the Year.
While the award is not presented each and every year, it
recognizes extraordinary contributions made by a coach to the
American Legion Baseball Program over a number of years. In
accepting the award, Ron said, "It's icing on the cake to
receive an award for something you really love doing." In
addition, North St. Paul Post #39 received the Post of the Year
Award, recognizing its long-term support and contributions to the
American Legion Baseball Program. Todd Oaks, originally from
Caledonia, MN, current Assistant Coach with the Gophers and
former pitcher and coach int eh San Francisco Giants
organization, was honored as the Minnesota American Legion
Graduate of the Year.
Congratulations to Hamline on its
State Tournament Performance!
After a tough 5-4 loss in the
first round to St. Paul Park which sent the team to the losers'
bracket, Hamline battled back and defeated New Ulm Gold 5-4,
defeated highly-regarded Hopkins 9-3, but ultimately lost to the
Rochester Redhawks 7-6 in a game which was split between two

2006 Minnesota State Tournament
The Annual Minnesota State American Legion
Baseball Championship Tournament will be hosted by Excelsior.
Play begins on Thursday, August 3, 2006 and continues through
Sunday, August 6, 2006. Team check-in will take place on
Wednesday, August 2, 2006, with the annual banquet being held
