Tri-City Blue Welcomes Todd Niklaus as 2013 Head Coach
and Announces 2013's Tournament ScheduleEffective with the 2013 season, Tri-City Blue is pleased to announce the appointment of Todd Niklaus as Head Coach.
Coach Niklaus is a Varsity Assistant with the St. Anthony Village High School baseball team, the Head Coach of the varsity football team, as well as being a Deal of Students at St. Anthony Village High School. He was a baseball letter-winner in his hometown of Williamsport, PA. Together with his wife, Dana, and son, Will, Coach Niklaus resides in St. Anthony.Tri-City Blue is also excited to announce its participation in the following tournaments in 2013:
June 20-23: St. Cloud Chutes Legion Tournament
Pool-play games will be held at Dick Putz and Joe Faber Fields (St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex).

July 15-16:Gopher Classic at Braemar (Courtney Fields) in Edina
Pool play opponents include Edina, Oakdale, Lakeville South, Ash Port WI, and Creighton Prep (Omaha) NE.

July 22-27:Sub-State 8 Playoff Tournament
This year, 15 "Sub-State Playoff Tournaments" will be held across MN (instead of 10 District tournaments). Blue will be seeded into Sub-State #8, which currently includes the following teams: TC Blue, Tri-City Maroon (Irondale), Tri-City Red (Mounds View), Maplewood Green, White Bear, Lino Lakes (Centennial), Stillwater, Forest Lake, and Chisago Lakes. (The other teams from the North Hennepin league -- such as Andover, Spring Lake Park, Anoka, etc. -- will be split between other Sub-States, such as #9 and #11.)State and National News

Statewide Legion Baseball PollOnce again, the ever-popular MN American Legion Baseball Statewide Coaches/Media Poll (whew!) will be up and running for the 2013 season. Complete poll results are posted each week on this web site, as well as being distributed to newspapers all across the state and several other media outlets. Make sure to check for the latest Poll results frequently!

2013 MN State American Legion Tournament
The Annual Minnesota State American Legion Baseball Championship Tournament will be hosted by Edina. Play begins on Friday, August 2, 2013 and continues through Monday, August 5, 2013. Team check-in will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2013, with the annual banquet being held that evening.
The Regional American Legion Tournament will be held as follows.
(Note, beginning in 2011, National began assigning both the Minnesota State Champ and the Minnesota State Runner up to the Central Plains Regional.)

The 2013 (88th) American Legion World Series will be held in Shelby, NC on Friday, August 16, 2013 through Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
