American Legion Baseball
Tie Breaking Procedure (2000)

All ties after the preliminary round shall be settled as follows (in order):

  1. Head-to-head competition.
  2. Fewest runs allowed during the tournament between tied teams.
  3. Differential between runs scored and runs allowed between tied teams.
  4. Lowest team Earned Run Average between tied teams.
  5. Best fielding percentage between tied teams.
  6. A coin flip.

Note: Once a team has been determined a "winner" or a team is "eliminated" -- and if a tie still exists between two teams, head-to-head play will decide the champion or runner-up.

Note: Tie Breaking System is used between tied teams only. Any team that is 3-0 or 0-3 is removed from this formula.
